Mental Health Nurse in Olean, NY

Dynamic Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic located in Olean, NY area seeking motivated RN to provide behavioral health care to children and adults as a part of a person-centered psychiatric care team.


    Description of duties and responsibilities
  • Adult inpatient and consultation-liaison psychiatry and supervision of ER evaluations
  • Patient preparation for daily doctor visits including medication reconciliation, updates from therapists or other providers;
  • Prior to doctor visits, take patient vitals, review medication list and allergies, confirm pharmacy;
  • Prior authorization of psychotropic medications and coordination with pharmacies;
  • Review patient health screenings and make recommendations for follow up care as needed;
  • Psychotropic injectable medication administration;
  • Monitoring of levels through labs and urine screens for patients receiving certain medications and reporting to doctors;
  • Coordination of care with primary care physicians;
  • Participation as a treatment team member with all disciplines within the agency;
  • Monitoring and organization of medication samples;
  • Completion of all required documentation

    Qualifications for position
  • NYS Licensed Registered Nurse;
  • 1+ years in behavioral health nursing preferred

    Supervisory relationships
  • Reports to Clinic Program Director

    Skills and knowledge required
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and side effects;
  • Ability to recognize signs of deteriorating mental illness;
  • Psychotropic medication injection administration;
  • Trauma informed care;
  • Person centered approach;
  • Crisis interventions and stabilization;
  • Suicide prevention interventions;
  • Basic technology skills, including typing, phone use, computer and basic computer software use;
  • Excellent communication skills

    Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Travel will be limited

    Hours per day or week
  • 40 hours per week

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Psychotherapy (LCSW-R) in Olean, NY

  • Serve as a clinician on a multidisciplinary clinical team to develop psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with assigned clients and families;
  • Develop treatment plans and provide clinical treatment services in the form of individual, group and/or family therapy;
  • Conduct evidence-based treatment groups to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness;
  • Advocate and develop networks of social and clinical services to assist clients in meeting identified needs;
  • Establish appropriate community reintegration plan for those individuals moving to a less restrictive setting;
  • LCSWs participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and conduct evidence-based for local population, and may provide testimony in Probate Hearings.
Requirements for LCSW-R in Olean, NY
  • Masters Degree in Social Work
  • 3 years minimum clinical experience defined as treatment planning, diagnosis and psychotherapy.
  • Clinical ASWB Exam
  • Candidate would need to have completed at least a general psychiatry residency program.
  • Knowledge of current state mental hygiene regulations.
  • Familiarity with managed care criteria.
